I've recently upgrade to SP2. Since the upgrade i've had users report that their AppV applications are no longer working correctly.

They can still fire up the AppV application via the start menu for example but if they have a document on their machine which they try opening by simply double clicking on it nothing happens. It reports something along the lines "this is not a supported action and is only valid for installed products".

I've checked the file associations and they all register fine. As i said above pre SP2 this did work.

    Has anyone got any ideas?

Please check vapplauncher.log under windows\system32\ccm\logs, check if there is any error in it.

Can you post the registry key setting for file association? They suppose to be linked to VappLauncher.exe

Please confirm what version the client was prior to upgrade.  Was it SP1?  Also, what version of App-V did you have prior to install of SP2 client?

Prior to installing SP2 my SCCM site was at SP1, with the AppV client running 4.5.

The vapplauncher log does not show anything relating to why the problem is occuring. I can look in file associations and see they are linked to the Vapplauncher.exe

This issue has been observed by multiple customers and is currently being escalated through the internal CSS channels.

Once there is a resolution I will re-post.
