Hi
I have spent quite a bit of time online in order to detirmine which operating systems of are supported for both System State & BMR protection in DPM 2010 only to have half-baked answers.
All that I can gather was that Windows XP's support for System State protection was removed in DPM 2010 according to some release note.
Somewhere I also read that Windows Vista had no support for System State protection, however I suspect that may not be true?
I basically need a need to know if the following operating systems support System State and/or BMR protection:
* Microsoft Windows XP
* Microsoft Windows Vista
* Microsoft Windows 7
* Microsoft Windows Server 2003 & 2003 R2
* Microsoft Windows Server Server 2008 & 2008 R2
If someone would be so kind as to assist. Much appreciated. Thanks

Hello,
This link may help with your answer: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff399494.aspx
Unsupported ScenariosThe following scenarios are not supported for BMR:
Computers running Windows Server 2003.
Computers running client operating systems like Windows XP or Windows Vista or Windows A DPM server cannot protect itself for BMR.
Disk-Tape protection is not supported for BMR. However, long-term to tape with short-term to disk (D-D-T) is supported.
Thanks,
Shane
