    Hi everyone,

I have an annoying problem. I have captured WS2003 images which I deploy with MDT. But if I use the Windows Update script to install all updates available at the Windows Update site the following occurs:

At first everything works great: updates are beïng downloaded and installed. Then the server reboots and when it's up and running again I get the following error: Unable to connect to the deploymentshare (\\....\deploymentshare$). Possible explanation: Invalid credentials.

I'm able to ping the server where the deploymentshare resides so there's no problem with my network connection but when I enter the share in the explorer address bar I get nothing (the share has Read right for Everyone)! I'm no longer able to access any network shares!

If I deploy the image without updating the deployment will be succesfully completed. I can the update the server manually without problems so it's not a buggy update. My theory is that the update script installs all updates at once, including the ones that require a seperate installation and a reboot!

Can anyone confirm my theory or offer one of their own? Has anyone else come across this issue and if so, is there a known solution?

    Sincerely,

    MicaH
