What is the procedure to change the SQL Server DB Server on a running SP 2010 Farm
Currently we are running SP 2010 Enterprise SP1 and SQL Server 2008 R2. It just configured and started working on the contents. We need to change the DB Server to SQL Server Enterprise 2012 version. We have only one front end server and one DB server.
Can we disconnect the server by running the Config Wizard from Central Admin and reconfigure with new DB Server details?

Unfortunately it's not quite that simple, but here's a complete writeup of moving from one server to another. Unless you are using SQL aliasing, this is the process.
I trust that answers your question...
Thanks

Will try this.
We are not using SQL aliasing.

If you did want to use a SQL alias, this blog post explains how to do it, http://www.toddklindt.com/sqlalias. The screenshots are for SharePoint 2007, but the steps are all the same.
