Sharepoint Search Error "An unexpected error has occurred."

We have recently installed Sharepoint Server for testing on our server and we have everything running except a few problems searching. I have read ideas on a number of forums problems where configuring the search caused by permissions but I think I have set this up correctly on our occurrence.
We do not get any errors now in the event log and we get notification of the gather starting and finishing correctly. I have setup a search portal which everyone can access but when actually searching for an item I get an error:
Error An unexpected error has occurred. Web Parts Maintenance Page: If you have permission, you can use this page to temporarily close Web Parts or remove personal settings. For more information, contact your site administrator. Troubleshoot issues with Windows SharePoint Services. Does anyone have any questions or advice on this issue? Please be gentle I am very new to Shraepoint.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Check the ULS logs for the actual exception being raised.--

Sorry I posted in the wrong forum, thank you for moving it.
Now back to the matter at hand...I have taken a look at the ULS logs and there are some entries which are related to the search but as someone who is new to SharePoint they don't seem to mean much to me so here they are if anyone has any thoughts or ideas? Sorry I have posted so much of the log but I didn't want to miss anything out. Hope this makes more sense to someone, sorry if its just a basic problem.
