Pergunta USB scanner, HP Precision Scan Pro, XP-Mode VM - what's the Intel / AMD difference?

Windows Virtual PC XP Mode (6.1, build 7601) 512 MB VM on x86 Win 7 Pro SP1 on HP DX2450 PC with AMD Phenom 8600B Triple Core; 4.00 GiB RAM, hardware virtualization disabled; dual booting XP-Pro 32bit SP3 and Windows 7 Pro 32bit SP1.

Windows Virtual PC XP Mode (6.1, build 7601) 512 MB VM on x86 Win 7 Pro SP1 Toshiba Tecra laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo 8600; 2 GiB RAM, no hardware virtualization available; dual booting XP-Pro 32bit SP3 and Windows 7 Pro 32bit SP1.

HP Precision Scan Pro v3.0 is being used with an HP Scanjet 7400c via USB.

HP Precision Scan Pro works flawlessly in native XP on the HP DX2450 and Toshiba Tecra and in WVPC XP-Mode in Windows 7 on the Toshiba Tecra.

On the HP DX2450, when booted to Windows 7-Pro and in the WVPC XP-Pro VM, HP Precision Scan Pro only partially drives the scanner. It successfully controls the preview scan, displays an image for cropping, allows file-save selection and creates a file-system entry of sufficient dimension to accommodate the data from the scan (be that in the VHD or through a tsclient path). However, once the command to scan is initiated the HP-PSP app hangs, the USB device in the XP-Pro VM's 'USB' menu disappears from the list of available USB devices (ie goes from being shown as "HP Scanjet 7400c Release" to not being there at all). After waiting sufficient time, HP Precision Scan Pro's process can be ended abruptly via XP's Task Manager in the VM (with an invite to send a report).

HP Scanjet 7400c drivers are installed during HP Precision Scan Pro installation in native XP and the XP-Mode VM (driver dated 29/11/2000; version 1.1.0.1; supplier HP).

The VM is configured to not publish applications, integration features are enabled including audio and the default differencing VHD is used.

For the XP-Mode VM, USB Virtualization is installed in Windows 7 as soon as the HP Scanjet 7400c is attached via the XP-Mode VM 'USB' menu.

In the XP-Mode VM, Device Manager shows the HP Scanjet 7400c under imaging devices.

Is this about differences between WVPC on Intel and AMD?

Scan works on Intel system booted to XP

Scan still works in guest XP on Intel system booted to Win7 using VPC for Windows XP-Mode

Scan works on AMD system booted to XP

Scan fails in guest XP on AMD system booted to Win7 using VPC for Windows XP-Mode
