high cpu usage of java.exe and needed tunnel.sys file

Hello,
I have here an Windows Server 2008 R2 Core Edition with Servicepack 1. It is used as Domain Controller, DNS, DHCP and WINS. It use IPv4 and IPv6 network. Only for IPv4 is a gateway available. IPv6 will come next year...
However, we use an APC Smart-UPS with Network Interface Card. Therefore on all server the APC PCNC Client is installed. It is a Software which shutdown the Server on several UPS related problems. That Software needs JAVA, but there is a problem with it: Java.exe showing abnormally high CPU usage after installing PowerChute Network Shutdown on Windows 2008 Server Core R2.
I found in the APC Knowledgebase the following: http://emea-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11366/~/windows-server-2008-r2-server-core%2F-windows-hyperv-server-2008-r2%3A-high-cpu
There should be a hotfix from Microsoft to solve that problem: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978309
After request and download of the file, I wanted to install it, but that fails: it is not for my system. The KB978309 fix shows me: Windows 7/WindowsServer 2008 R2, x64, sp1. That's the same as my system: Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7601]; Windows 2008 R2, Service Pack 1...
Is there a different way to install the tunnel.sys file on Server Core? Are there any different tipps for that problem?

Hi,
In the download request page, the Release “SP1” doesn’t mean it’s for Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
The version of Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 is 6.1.1701. However, the following table shows the version of Tunnel.sys is 6.1.7600, so it seems that is a update for Windows Server 2008 R2(non-sp1).
For all supported x64-based versions of Windows Server 2008 R2

Hi,
Thank you very much for your answer. Now it's clear why I'm not able to install the hotfix.
So there is only the question how I'm able to fix that problem on SP1? I already searched for tunnel.sys and on all Windows Server Core installation: file is missing.

Hi,
It is recommended that you contact APC to see whether they have any solution about this issue.
