Unable to connect to a Virtual Machine Console through HyperV Manager in Server 2008 R2

When trying to connect to a HyperV console through Hyper V Manager I get the following error.
"Virtual Machine Connection" Cannot connect to the virtual machine. Try to connect again. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.
If I use RDP to the same virtual machine I have no issue in connecting. The Hyper V host server also has SCVMM Admin console on it as well and I can't get it to load the HyperV console.
If I look at the preview window in Hyper V Manager I can see a pic of the HyperV.
I have tried rebooting the server as well and get the same results. Has all the current updates as well.

Hi,
The following post discussed a similar issue, you can refer to:

I looked at the post and I don't see how this would be the answer.
Certain applications become very slow on a Windows Server 2008-based or Windows Vista SP1-based computer when a certificate with the SIA extension is installed
KB 955805
Is this saying that I don't have rights to the Guest console?

I am having the exact same issue as described. I am running Hyper-V on Windows Server 2008 R2 not 2008 so that Hotfix above does not apply because it's for 2008 only. Any resolution would be appreciated.
Thanks

I am having the same issue.
We have 3 HyperV host machines.
The #2 server is the problem.
I have even torn down the raid array, and rebuilt the server from scratch with the same problem.
The other 2 HyperV hosts have no problems using the Hyper_v Manager and connecting to the consoles of their VMs.
2008R2 SP1 full install on all machines.

terça-feira, 24 de abril de 2012 22:10I'm having the same issue as well in 2008R1 w/sp1. I can see the hyper-v in the preview, but I can't connect using Virtual Machine Connection. It is stuck at connecting and eventually times out. Apparently this problem has not been fully identified and fixed yet!

Under the virtual network manager, I unchecked "allow management operating system to share this network adapter", clicked "Apply", then re-checked that option, and clicked "Apply" again. Problem solved. Apparently there is a network binding issue going on.
