  there is no info about SKU's yet, only a statement that they want to reduce the number of them. so no solid info on that yet

  Most likely the answer is yes.  (I can't see that changing any time soon, especially with the enhancements that are on the way)

  But as stated by FZB, this has not been disclosed.

  Hi,

   

  There are Hyper-V Server 2008 and Hyper-V Server 2008 R2, so I suspect that there is also a free version of Hyper Server after Windows 8 release.
  Note: This is just a speculation, not an official announcement

  Does anyone know if there will be a free Microsoft Hyper-V Server 8 version?

  
   Microsoft has integrated Hyper-V r3 into 8 OS client (developer preview versions of 8)
   that's to say that it seems that they continue to encourage people to test and use their hypervisor.           I think the answer would be yes.

  Go to

  And then click Get the Beta, logon, and start downloading.
