Locked FCS Standalone

    Can FCS be installed standalone and update from Microsoft Update? If so, what is the command line switch for clientsetup.exe? I have tried clientsetup.exe /NoMOM but the command window flashs and then disappears.

      Hi Bill

      The clientsetup.exe /NOMOM is the stand-alone install, but it sounds like something is failing in your case.  Logs for the install are located here:  %PROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft Forefront\Client Security\Client\Logs

       

      Take a look and see what the issue is from the log(s)

       

      Note: clientsetup.exe does not automatically opt a client machine into MU - you'll still need to do that manually

        I'm arriving a bit late to this one, but here goes.

        Our network is running on a single server with SBS 2008 (x64), so I can't install the management console. I think that means I have to install the security agent manually on each computer. We only have 5 clients, and are not interested in installing a secondary server at present.

        So I've tried the NOMOM installation from the command prompt, and I'm in precisely the same place as bklosa, above. The Clientsetup.log tells me that:

        AM Installation Failed.  See FCSAM.log for details.

        I found the FCSAM.log, but have no idea how to read it. It's dauntingly long:
