I am a newbie on it pro stuff.
I have installed exchange2010 and on a other server i installed tmg and another server with AD
so far so good.
Now i want to have my Exchange working from outside trough tmg. this because i only have one IP adress and also have a sharepoint server which i want to publish to the net.
The big question is which steps do i need to follow in detail to get the exchange working.
I heard something about certificates etc...
Is there somewhere a good tutorial how to set this up inclusive steps of certification.
another thing is i have exchange2010 and forefront for exchange do i need to do anything with the forefront for exchange?
thanks in advance for the help
kind regards,

Hi Paul,
for installing Exchange 2010 see the following link: Deployment Assistent for Exchange 2010
For publishing Exchange and Sharepoint with only 1 IP you will need a SAN-certificate.
Forefront for Exchange you should install on your Exchange to be protected against spam and malware.
To include Forefront for Exchange in TMG you will have to set up Exchange Edge first then install Forefront for Exchange and at last TMG on top.
If you have any further questions feel free to ask.
Greetings

Hi Christian,
Thanks for your reply. I checked the deployment assistent looks great to bad it is not there jet for new installs.
where can i get the San certificate?
Ok The forefront is not that important then since my mail is allready scanned by Barricuda at my ISP
Still not very clear how i create the rules in tmg and where to use which certificate.
Heard more people are struggeling with this problem.
If you have some more info it would be great.
kind regards,

Hi Paul,
ok, then check this tutorial: http://blogs.technet.com/scottschnoll/archive/2009/04/15/how-to-install-exchange-server-2010.aspx.
The SAN-certificate you can enroll from a private CA or from a distributor like Godaddy.
For publishing Exchange webclients over TMG you will have to install the certificate on TMG, so you can use in in your weblistener. TMG comes with an assistant that helps you to publish your Exchange webclients. The only thing you have to do is check the webclients you want to publish in the assistant and "that's all"
