13 mai 2009 01:01ProprietarIt looks like the sign in client is unable to set the "certificate service provider name" while requesting for a new certificate. I assume you didn't modify the anything related to the "cryptographic services".
Has the client worked fully in your machine before?
Have you tried restarting the machine once? -
13 mai 2009 07:55Hi,
I didn't modify anything related to "cryptographic services", I have started this service in my pc.
I have rebooted the machine many times and the problem continue.
I think that the problem is a some parameter that it doesn't permit to prepare a new certificate, but i don't know what is it.
Please, i don't know what i must to do.
Thanks. -
14 mai 2009 03:47ProprietarOur certificate requests use "Microsoft Enhanced Cryptographic Provider v1.0'. Is it possible that, in your work computers, this provider is uninstalled?
Can you check the following registry key and check if you can find keys under "Microsoft Enhanced Cryptographic Provider v1.0"
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Defaults\Provider -
14 mai 2009 09:00Hello,
I have checked the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Defaults\Provider and I can see "Microsoft Enhanced Cryptographic Provider v1.0".
In "Microsoft Enhanced Cryptographic Provider v1.0" there are 5 entries:
(Default) REG_SZ (value not set)
Image Path REG_SZ rsaenh.dll
SigninFile REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (0)
Type REG_DWORD 0x00000001 (1)
That's all that i have seen...
Thanks,
Víctor.

Hi Victor, are you still having this issue? Seems to have been opened a long time back. In looking at the original statement, Vijay is right that the issue is related to the OS not able to request an Online Certificate:
11/05/2009 9:32:58 Exception Certman2.RefreshClientCertificate Unable to prepare a valid certificate request
11/05/2009 9:32:58 Exception Certman2.RefreshClientCertificate at XENROLLLib.CEnrollClass.set_ProviderName(String pbstrProvider)
at Microsoft.Online.Client.Certman.MakeCertRequest_XP(String templateName)
at Microsoft.Online.Client.Certman2.MakeCertRequest(String templateName)
at Microsoft.Online.Client.Certman2.RefreshClientCertificate(Object threadDataObject)
11/05/2009 9:32:58 Info TrayNotification.DisplayNextBalloonPopup Balloon popup "Unable to prepare a certificate request. Please contact your service administrator." is displayed from queue
This doesn't look to be a connectivity issue, as the local machine cannot prepare the request for an updated certificate, so this issue definitely looks to be local in nature.

Hello,
I have the same problem on a windows XP pro.
I have "Unable to prepare a certificate request. Please contact with your service administrator"
And in Sign in appears:
"There was an error while preparing your application dashboard. Please try again later."I try all tests described over, but I still have this problem.
With user "toto" (only member of administrators) I can't signin, and, with my initial admin account "administrator" (only member of administrators), it works !!!
Please help me !!!
Thanks

I have pretty much exhausted every idea known on forums and blogs I have found, and this issue is still not resolved for me. I am currently working with Microsoft Support to try and isolate the problem, but they just asked me if I did all the stuff I found on the internet.

Can you access your Microsoft online company portal? https://home.microsoftonline.com as this is linked to the sso client.
Check your time and make sure it is sycronized with an internet time server.
rip out all .net services and reinstall them from version 1 - 3.5 in order
then unistall and reinstal the sign in client.
run this command:
cacls "%appdata%\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA" /t /e /c /g "%username%":F

Hi,
Check you local time on the machine, it must have the correct time. otherwise the SSO will not be able to sign in.

Hi,
"There was an error while preparing your application dashboard. Please try again later."
This issue we can resolve by editing the local policy >
go to run > gpedit.msc
Computer configuration>Windows Settings>Security Settings>Local Policies>Security Options >
in this Security Options, double click the Network access: Do not allow storage of passwords and credentials for network authentication and set the policy in to Disabled.
This will resolve the issue.
