Is there such a thing as Safe Mode within the virtual xp mode? If so, how does one access it?

    Thanks,

    Ron

Sure, it's standard Windows XP pretty much.

The easiest way to access it is to make sure the VM is totally shut
down, not just marked as hibernated, and then go into the XP Mode
settings and uncheck "Enable at startup" on the "Integration Features"
tab. Then start the VM and hit F8 a few times as it starts up...

Thanks, Bob.. Out of curiosity.. Does a restore work the same way? just for the VXP?

As far as I know, yes.

Should I asume that, if the restore works within the XP Mode, that it only affects the virtual machine and not the outer shell windows 7 restore?

     Răspuns
Yes, very much so.  A system restore inside a VM only effects the VM.
If it's a domain joined VM, you might have trouble logging into the
domain, but that can happen with any PC.
