Is there such a thing as Safe Mode within the virtual xp mode? If so, how does one access it?
Thanks,Ron

29 ianuarie 2012 17:43Sure, it's standard Windows XP pretty much. The easiest way to access it is to make sure the VM is totally shutdown, not just marked as hibernated, and then go into the XP Modesettings and uncheck "Enable at startup" on the "Integration Features"tab. Then start the VM and hit F8 a few times as it starts up...

Should I asume that, if the restore works within the XP Mode, that it only affects the virtual machine and not the outer shell windows 7 restore?

Yes, very much so. A system restore inside a VM only effects the VM.If it's a domain joined VM, you might have trouble logging into thedomain, but that can happen with any PC.
