Network Discovery

Hello someone could help me?, I´ve activated Network Discovery and I´ve included in the Subnets Tab the subnets that I want to search, but in the All systems colecction is displaying machines that dont´t belongs to this subnets that have been discovered by the sms_network discovery agent. Any idea???.

What does the netdisc.log say? Does it show those device being discovered?

In your Log folder under your Configuration Manager installations folder.
It could look like this:
X:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Configuration Manager\Logs.

Were you enable the other discovery methods at the same time?

The reason for having network discovery enabled is to make sure that you have devices which are not discovered my other discovery methods to be discovered.This includes printers,Routers etc.Basically,any device with an IP address is discovered when you have the Network Discovery enabled.Along with the Network Discovery,you can use Active Directory System Discovery or Active Directory User Discovery which will give you more relevant info.

Network discovery and create will not find all devices with an IP address. it will only create record for those device that it can determine the subnet mask and that it finds. Keep in mind that it do NOT do a ping sweep of the network.
