I am having problems with the driver software for my network adaptor. WAN miniport (IKEv2). I believe it is what controls my IEEE port on front of computer. When I check the device I am getting this error message: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) When I try to update driver it says I already have the best driver. Wanted to know if you have a driver available to fix this problem or if there is something else affecting the port. I am running Window 7 64 bit with all available updates.

Who is the manufacturer or vendor of your WAN miniport (IKEv2)?  Have you confirmed the software for the device is 64-bit compatible?

Gigabyte is the maker of the motherboard and when using vista 64 bit the port worked. The port is on the front of the computer and not an added hardware card. It is hardwired into the motherboard. I have left an email with gigabyte, but haven't gotten a response yet. I think it is a driver problem not really a compatibility issue. But anything is possible.

    Update the driver

You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in, or may still have the driver files installed from the last time that you set up the device. However, sometimes, it will open the New Hardware Wizard which may ask for the driver. If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s Web site.

In the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to update the driver.

    Hi,

I had this problem and was constantly bugging me. Prevented me from going on VPN. I tried every advice I could find on the net, but none of them worked.

Finally I got an idea. Opened regedit and searched for WAN miniport and deleted every item I found. After restart I was forced to run an automatic startup fix thingy.

When done the WAN miniport (IKEv2) was gone, and the auto search didn't find it either.

What I did is, renamed the c:\Windows\inf\netavpna.inf and commented the ExcludeFromSelect section.

Now I went to manually install it.

After restart my WAN miniport (IKEv2) is up and running.

Thanks to Google and all the sites that helped me resolve the issue.
