Cannot see client display in Hyper-V in win 2008 R2 x64

I have recently setup hyper-v client on my machine 2008-r2 standard x64. I am running a xp client. ! can see the thumbnail for the client but do not see the actual display. I am testing it locally. my hosts file in system32\drivers\etc\hosts is empty (not sure if this is the issue). See the diagram below:

Firewall issue on the host? The "Hyper-V Management Clients" should be allowed through whichever type of network you're on (domain, home/work, public)
