    Here you go:

    1. Open a Command Console (cmd.exe)
    2. Type this command:
      notepad
    3. Press Enter
    4. Type this line:
      MsgBox "Welcome to my Web page!"
    5. Click File / Save as
    6. Check the "Encoding" drop box at the bottom. Make sure it reads "ANSI".
    7. Type "test.vbs" as a file name and press Enter.
    8. Type this at the Command Prompt:
      test.vbs

  • Please post a simple sample script that fails to compile. Note also that VB Script compilation does not depend on the editor you use because VB Script are ordinary text files that you can edit with any text editor.

    By the way - did you make sure to save your code in ANSI format? If you save it in Unicode format then it won't work!
