Pop-up C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe

    Question

  • Pop-up C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe

About a week ago, suddenly, I began to get this Command Prompt window pop up every time I reboot or login to my system. It never used to. I have scanned my system several times. I haven't loaded anything different. It pops up for about 30 seconds then goes away. It just bugs me a lot. What can cause this? How can I get rid of it?

     nothing found in Msconfig too..

  • Hi,

Sounds like you need to ask in a general Windows forum - this is a scripting forum. When you find the correct forum, make sure to tell what version you are using (Windows XP, 7, etc.).

  • My question is whether the computer system in question is attached to a domain?  If so, I would guess that the domain administration has added a startup script to their login sequence - one that is taking 30 seconds or so to run.

  • Hi,

    Try the AutoRuns utility.
