    Question

  • I have recently had to replace my ghost server and need a script to stop the ghost service on the client machines (on the domain) , delete the public key and then restart the service.

  • What ghost server are you talking about.  There are numerous products that are called 'Ghost' server.  One is used to produce PDF files.  Another version is used to deploy software.

strt by finding the support site for your software and looking up the support tools.  It is likely that the vendor has done this already. If not then you need to figure out what registry key you need to delete.

PowerShell can stop services remotely.  There are numerous examples in the rpository.  PowersShell can also update the registry remotely.  There are also numerous examples of this in the repository.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Are you referring to Norton Ghost? If this is a third party product (like Norton Ghost), you probably should ask at their product support site. Otherwise, we need a lot more detail (like what is the public key and where is it?).
