  • Hi Maruthu,

Did you upgrade SharePoint and SQL to the latest versions, if not, try to upgrade them to the latest version and check the effect. If you applied security patches before this issue arose, make sure you have run PSConfig after that.

Did you install Adobe ifilter for pdf, if so, try to update ifilter and check the effect. Please check this:

And please also make sure the search service account have right permission.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

  • Hi

This error doesn't affect the crawler to crawl the contents of the SharePoint content DB. But I am getting the error "The Parameter is incorrect" in the crawl log. This issue has been fixed. The reason behind the error is "The Number of users in a group in the SharePoint site has crossed more than 1000". This made the crawler to stop crawling the contents.

To know more about this issue, read the detailed explaination in this article.

The Parameter is incorrect crawl error

    Ref Arcticle: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc850696.aspx

Also, the answer posted by Pengyu is correct, if the ifilter is installed, then it has to be updated inorder to stop the error caused by the pdf filters.

Hope this gives solution of the one who is facing the same issue with the Search Server.

  • Hi Pengyu,

    Thanks for the reply.

I have checked the following to fix the issue.

    1. Default access account permissions and changes in it - No changes

    2. Database errors - No error logs

    3. Reset the crawl - But same error persists.

In the below link, I could see that this Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error can be left as such.

    http://www.eventid.net/displayqueue.asp?eventid=10036

But I am getting only "The Parameter is incorrect" in the search server logs.

    Share your thoughts and comments.

    Thanks in Advance!
