How to remove "Copy Video URL" from embedded youtube video

    Question

  • Hi;

    I added a webpart to embed a youtube video and did some configuration to disable youtube logo and share button and the control bar as well.

    However; I need to hide the video URL from the video clip, when I play it inside the Sharepoint, I found that if I right click my mouse on the video, I can see some flash function such as "Copy Video URL", 'Copy embed code",...

    How can I disable it inside my Sharepoint embedded vidoe, and also when I move the mouse to the lower right corner in video, the YouTube logo will appear and let me click on it, how can I remove it either?

    thanks!

  • Hi,

    As per your post, I know you want to hide the "Copy Video URL", 'Copy embed code" options by right-clicking. However, this should not be done generally because it limits users options without resolving the issue. (Since users can easily access the YouTube logo and see the resource video on the YouTube.)

    The following article better explains why this should not be done and what other actions can be taken to solve common related issues: http://articles.sitepoint.com/article/dont-disable-right-click

    At this point, I would suggest you add the videos from computer or from SharePoint as a workaround.

    Thanks.

  • I think you will find this to be a usefull link: Youtube Player parameters

    You can either add the parameters in question to the URL of the video, directly from the HTML source or use the menu option to amend the hyperlink in the Fluent UI, aka the Ribbon.

    Good luck!

  • I tried some already to remove the link for the top and bottom bar but there is a hidden one at the lower right corner, it will display when you move your mouse there.

    Also, how can I disable the right click from the video clip?
