Export to database failed. To export a list, you must have a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible application

    Question

  • While trying to create "Access view" for SharePoint list I am getting"Export to database failed. To export a list, you must have a Windows SharePoint Services-compatible application" and closing the opened Access 2007.

    I have Access 2007 (Office 2007 enterprise trial version)  and WINDOWS XP Operating System on my system.

    Any inputs are appreciated to overcome from above problem to create "Access view" to a sharePoint list.

    What version is your WSS or SharePoint server? How about Windows XP’s version?

     

    Did you install Office 2003 before you install Office 2007? If so, please try to use the methods mentioned in the following article to fix the issue:

     

    You cannot create a new document or check out an existing document in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 document library when you have multiple versions of Office installed

    To create a view of a SharePoint list, you need the Windows SharePoint Services Manage Lists permission, which, by default, is included in the Design permission level.
