Fortune 500 companies using SharePoint

    Question

  • Hi,

I've read in some article from 2011 that over 80% of the Fortune 500 companies uses SharePoint. Is that figure even higher now or is it completely false?

    Best regards,
    Rickard

  • That's not a question I suspect anyone here can answer.  People here are mostly technically inclined and come from a number of international backgrounds, so I don't really think that you'll get a conclusive answer here, just opinion and conjecture.

I'd think about questioning the sources that you've read.  If you're researching this as a pre-sales question or a presentation I suspect that there are better resources on the Internet to assist you.

  • Even though this question isnt technical at all, i couldnt help but to answer.

To what you asked, Well, at least this is what Microsoft claims,

you can't be pretty sure with the percentage but actually lots of those fortune 500 companies indeed have sites based on SharePoint products, like procter and gambles www.homemadesimple.com tampax.com pringles.com UPS's site theupsstore.com / kraft foods / Chrysler group (Cars maker) / Marlboros makers Phylips moris / VIACOM and many more (google them)..

anyhow, whatever is the percentage Microsoft had, it have gotten higher since MS bought yammer who also claims that 85% of the 500 fortune companies uses yammer, so yes the numbers must have raised.
