Sharepoint 2010 Approval Workflow stops after first Approver, how to make it proceed?

    Question

  • I have created an approval workflow in Sharepoint 2010. I have entered three approvers in the list (Serial approvers).

When an item is created the first approver is notified, when he/she approves the workflow does not assign the task to the next person.

    How can I fix this?

  • Hi,

Did you use the build in Approval Workflow in SharePoint 2010?

If yes, when you set the participants in serial order, the workflow task will be sent one at a time. Have you set “Automatically reject the document if it is rejected by any participant” when creating the workflow? After this, the workflow will end on first rejection.

  • I am also experiencing the same issue. The first approver gets notified, approves the task, task completes, but notification for the second approver in the order is never sent.  Need an answer on this if someone has one!
