Database file size in SQL Server 2008 R2

    Below are the limitation values for one file (data and log file) for enterprise, datacenter and standard edition. 

    File size (data)

    16 terabytes

    16 terabytes

    File size (log)

    2 terabytes

    2 terabytes

    SQL Server 2008R2 Datacenter, Enterprise and Standard edition can support a database with max 32767 files with each file of max size 16TB. Hence a max DB size of 16TB x 32767 can be supported

    SQL Server 2008R2 ships in three main edition as below:

    Datacenter, Enterprise and Standard.

    Below is the max DB size supported as per BOL.

    Feature Name

    Datacenter

    Enterprise

    Standard

    Maximum database size

    524 TB

    524 TB

    524 TB
