  • It should have worked. Could you just see whether you have followed the same steps as shown here?

    http://www.mssqltips.com/tip.asp?tip=1283

Else, please tell me how and where you are pasting the javascript and based on that, I can provide further help

  • Can you try this code in the action tab?

    ="javascript:void(window.open('http://www.google.com'))"

and see whether it is working?

  • Hi PTL86,

Thanks for you post and Jason’s profession reply.

According to your description, you would like to add URL link to your report which would be opened in a new window. So  I’ll illustrate the detailed steps below:

    1.       Right-click the textbox which you would apply the hyper link to.

    2.       Select Expression to pen the Expression window box.

    3.       Type the expression below in the textbox.

    ="<a href=""javascript:void(window.open('http://www.google.com/'))"">parent</a>"

    4.       Click ok.

    5.       Double-click the textbox to select «Expr» in it, and right-click it.

    6.       Select Placeholder Properties.

    7.       Check the HTML-Interpret HTML tags as styles checkbox in General tab.

    8.       Click ok.

I have tested it in my testing environment, you can replace http://www.google.com/  to the URL you want to use, replace parent to the string you want to show in the textbox, then have a try.

If you have anything unclear, please feel free to let me know.

    Thanks,

    Bill Lu

  • You missed going to the action tab.

     1. Right-click the textbox which you would apply the hyper link to and select properties.

    2.    Go to action tab.

    3.   Select Expression to pen the Expression window box.

and then the rest of the steps.

Also, try using the below code directly in the expression of the action tab

    ="javascript:void(window.open('http://www.google.com'))"

  • PTL86,

Please follow the following steps and check:

    1) Create a textbox and assign it any value (eg. Link).

    2) Right Click properties.

    3) Go to Action tab

    4) Select Go to URL

    5) Select the fx (expression window) and write:

    ="javascript:void(window.open('http://consonacrmtest.consona.net/oep_onyx/powerpage/oep_launcher.asp?action=1&type=1&IDType=1&ID'" &  Fields!Case_.Value.ToString() & "','_blank'))"

    6) Click OK.

    7) Run the report in Report Manager as it will not just work in your BIDS.

    Hope it helps!

    Regards

    Manoj

  • PTL86,

You are not able to select the field in your action window, What is the scope of the textbox you are using for the Link?

Please try this in your SSRS report and state the result.

Go to Action tab, Select Go To URL and paste this code.

    ="javascript:void( window.open('http://www.google.com','_blank'))"

Deploy this report in report manager and check a new window will open running google.

Check this if  it is running for you or not!

    Regards

    Manoj

  • PTL86,

It should have worked for you, as it is working fine in my local test environment.

If possible, can you share your RDL?

    Regards

  • PTL86,

First, you should try it a simple javascript function is working or not:

    eg. i shared before

    ="javascript:void( window.open('http://www.google.com','_blank'))"

If it's working then you can go ahead and customize the URL in your report.

One thing I noticed in your above URL, make the change accordingly,

    ="javascript:void(window.open('http://consonacrmtest.consona.net/oep_onyx/powerpage/oep_launcher.asp?action=1&type=1&IDType=1&ID='"&CStr(Fields!Case_.Value) & "','_blank'))"
