Can not use calculated measure in DAX query

    General discussion

  • I have a tabular model which has one table which contains one calculated column. I am writing DAX query in SSMS to get that column value. I am getting the error below, but when I use non calculated measure I can see the values.

Can we use calculated measure from Tabular\BISM model to write DAX query?

"Column 'CalculateColumn' in table 'TabularTable' cannot be found . "

  • Yes you can.  Did you spell your column name correctly?  And use the "TableName[ColumnName]" syntax?

You can also post the exact DAX you're using, as well as a screenshot of your model's table with column names.  That will help with context for the issue.

  • Thanks Brent for your reply. I am using correct syntax, Below is my DAX query

    evaluate
           summarize(
                  'Baseline Version Fact'
         ,'Accounts'[Description]
                  , "Sales Amount"
                  , SUM('Baseline Version Fact'[Baseline Benefilt Amount]))

"Baseline Benefilt Amount"  column is calculated measure.

  • Could you also post the screenshot Brent asked for?

    Thanks!
