Where are my log entries?

    Question

  • Hi all,

I've been writing a custom handler for a pull merge replication. My publisher-distributor is a 2k5 dev edition and my subscribers are sql express 2k5. I have some questions:

    1. I assign a string to the ref string historyLogMessage parameter, like on the msdn code example http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms147911.aspx.  I've set the values 1, 2 to the ref int historyLogLevel parameter but I can't find those entries after the sync is over. Where do they go? Subscriber DB or publisher DB? Where can I see those log entries using the server management tool?
    2. About that ref int historyLogLevel parameter, what are the valid values and what do they mean?
    3. I use the Output and the OutputVerboseLevel properties of my MergeSynchronizationAgent and I can see my entries there, but is it possible to retrieve those entries from some SQL Server logger as well and not depend on my local file?

    Thanks,

    Assaf
