Remote server returned an error: (400) bad request

    Question

  • Hi,

    I am using IIS 6.0.

I have a server, in which i have a web application, which was in http. The report manager(SSRS 2005) was also in http. I moved the web application to https. After moving, i am not able to access the report manager, but i am able to access the web application.

I am getting the error as "The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.".

How to open the report manager.

    Thank you

  • Hi Venkatzeus,

The issue seems to be caused by the Reporting Services virtual directories is not configured to use SSL correctly.

If the Reporting Services virtual directories are in the same site of the web application, once we configure the application to use SSL, the Internet Informatin Server(IIS) will require the SSRS to use SSL too.

To fix the issue, please configure the SSRS to use SSL through Reporting Services Configuration Manager.

    For more information, please see:
Configuring a Report Server for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Connections: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345223(SQL.90).aspx

If there is anything unclear, please feel free to ask.
