PGP encryption in SSIS

    Question

  • I have a package which generates a Flatfile(CSV). Then i need to upload it to the FTP server with the PGP Encryption.the end users will download the files from the FTP location.Do i need any 3rd party tools.I am using SQL 2005 sp2

    Can anyone help me on this?

  • If you can write .Net code to perform the PGP encryption (or use a 3rd party library), you can put this in a Script task to PGP encrypt the file before uploading to the FTP site. Alternatively, you can use a 3rd party application which can be activated using the Execute Process Task.

  • I'm not aware of an open source SSIS PGP encryption component.  But you can use an open source command-line tool, such as GnuPG (http://www.gnupg.org/) and invoke using and Execute Process Task like Craig mentioned.
