Machines rebooting after installing security updates

    Question

  • RebootCoordinator.log on client that rebooted has

Reboot Settings per collection for the client are missing from WMI

    Deployment settings are -

Display/Time Settings - Supress display notifications on client

Restart setting - Supress system restarts on Servers and workstations are both checked

Download setting - Download patches and install

Deadline is enforced at a certain date and time.

Not all the machines have rebooted. Only about 5% of total deployment.

I dont think this is a issue with deployment.

Any pointers on how to fix the issue or what is causing this issue ?

    Thanks

  • Do you have the Windows Update agent disabled using a group policy?

If not, it could be the culprit as it likes to reboot systems where updates have installed and are pending a reboot.
