SCCM report all workstations that haven’t rebooted since installation of hotfix package.

    Question

  • I have suppressed reboot for a hotfix and I have displayed a message for users who have logged in at that time " that they need to reboot their system". I want to get a report how many users did a reboot after installtion of this hotfix?

  • Hi,

here is a link to a query in the console:

    http://joshuasmueller.wordpress.com/2010/05/04/reboot-pending/

Try this as a report query:

    select distinct V_R_SYSTEM.Name0,V_GS_PatchStatusEx.LastStateName from V_R_System  inner join V_GS_PatchStatusEx on V_GS_PatchStatusEx.ResourceID = V_R_System.ResourceId where V_GS_PatchStatusEx.LastStateName = 'Reboot pending'

    regards,
    Jörgen

  • Try this query : -

This will provide the time and the days of the last reboot .

    SELECT v.Name0, v.Active0, v.Obsolete0, v.Client_Version0,
    Convert(VarChar(10), OS.LastBootUpTime0, 101) 'Last Boot Date',
os.lastBootUpTime0,DATEDIFF(dd, LastBootUpTime0, GETDATE())AS 'Number of Days since last bootup'
    FROM v_R_System V
    JOIN v_Gs_Operating_System OS on v.ResourceID = OS.ResourceID

  • You should also have a look at this utility, it can force a restart on those computers who has not been restarted for x-number of days. Combine that with the report, and you have full control - http://blog.coretech.dk/kea/coretech-shutdown-utility-0-81/ more info on how to use the tool http://blog.coretech.dk/kea/configuration-manager-shutdown-utility/

  • thanks Rabz it did provide detailed report but I want to know specifically after successfull installation of that package, how many users not yet rebooted.
Also there is one slight problem with that result, it displayed Last Boot date in US date format (mm/dd/yyyy) but Last boot up time in AUS date format (dd/mm/yyyy) as a result of that it doesn't provide accurate result.

  • Hi Kent, that is a great tool but management want to display only remainder to reboot not the option to reboot with it.

  • What is wrong is Jörgen, query? It will tell you all PCs that are still pending reboot, Is that exactly what you asked for?
