Clients NOT Scaning for Software Update Compliance - Updates not being deployed

    Question

  • Hi,

My customer currently has a primary site server with a internet based SUP and an Intranet based SUP, these are child SUPS of the central site sup which connects to Microsoft Update.  Recently all my client s have ceased to scan for software update compliance, the client scanagent task has dissapeared and there is no wuahandler log within the ccm\logs directory on the client.

The software updates client agent is enabled for the site.

The scan agent.log shows the following, (i'm particularly interested in the E_FAIL_POLICY_NOT FOUND errors and how I can rectify them and get my customers SUP infrastructure up and running as we are despetrately trying to distribute februarys updates quickly):

  • I would verify the client is recieving policy from the Management Point.  Can you access the MP from IE on the client? Also check WINMGMT /verifyrepository to make sure that the WMI respository is not corrupt.  The client stores its policy in this store.

  • I am having the same issue... winmgmt /verifyrepository returned no errors, wmidiag script also returned no errors, and the client recieves all other policies and regular software pushes. This issue is occuring across most, if not all of my clients. Which policy should I be specifically looking for?

Any other status/updates on this issue? Searching technet reveals nothing and this thread is the only refrence to that error I can find anywhere.

    Thanks.

  • I'm getting pretty much those exact same errors, anyone out there.  The SCCM clients otherwise work fine, but I'm having a hard time using the integrated SUP
