Error: 800700B7 Cannot create a file when that file already exists

    Question

  • When I am trying to deploy OS using standalone media. It always have this error 800700B7 failed to stage boot image. Is there any problem on the stage boot image? How to solve this? I tried to deploy the OS again using the same media, then it says "No bootable partition in table". The error log is as below.

  • if you press F8 can you browse c: and list files there ? if not perhaps you need to load storage support in your boot.wim file or change the sata/bios settings, what os are you deploying ?

  • I may know why it has this error. It staged the boot image in previous steps, which the task sequence is started in FULL OS, then it restart in Windows PE for the first time and create the environment scope successfully. But during Apply OS steps when it requires to restart in Windows PE, it failed to create the environment scope again.

Do you know how to solve this problem?

  • This error is only happen when the task sequence started in Full OS and deployed via USB Flash Drive. Do you have any idea? If I use standalone DVD media, it won't have such error at all.
