    Question

  • I have been using sccm succesfully for a while now and have recently re-imaged 150 existing machine and all have work, with the exception of one that start to resolve the task sequence then drops out with the error code 0x80070570, I can not check the smsts.log as it have not been created by this point on the local hard drive and have been unable to find this error code on the internet, does anyone know what this error code means.

  • Are you looking in X:\Windows\Temp\SMSTSlog for the log? It is created as soon as the boot media starts loading the OSD processes.

570 = 1392 = "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable."

Not sure exactly what that means in this context, maybe a hardware problem.

  • Are you getting a status in SCCM for the advertisement?  Is this a new system with new hardware (NIC or Storage) ?

If you do an IPCONFIG with "F8" option do you have an IP address?

  • I know that this is an old post but I had a similar issue using a boot media to run a Task Sequence in ConfigMgr 2012 SP1 environment and I wasn't able to find a proper answer on that one.

    So here it is:

The computer I was trying to image was shutdown using the good old holding the power button thing.

The drive was marked as dirty and had to run a checkdisk on reboot.

Once the checkdisk was done, the Task Sequence was able to start without any problem.

So the answer is, let the OS restart or run a checkdisk.

  • Hi Mathieu,
I had the exact same problem and a checkdisk solved my problem.
    THANK YOU VERY MUCH......

  • I was able to resolve this problem by wiping the partitions on the hard drive sccm was trying to install to. This has worked on multiple machines now that have had this problem.
