SCOM alerts for Memory paging, usage and cpu high utilization

    Question

  • Hi,

I was trying to look for a resource that could provide me as the reference on MS recommended values for frequent alerts and duration. To be more specific, I wanted to know the values which would be the MS recommended in regard to alert frequencies and duration for memory paging, usage, and cpu high utilization. This would help me when to ignore the alerts.

Hope you could provide the information or links.

    Thanks.

  • Hi, All default params are set in MP that are very well with many situations...then it's up to you what to override in regard to your organization and requirements.

  • From my experience, the default value and duration work well in real situation except memory usage of 64-bit SQL server which is almost eat up the available memory which is design by default.
