Activity Status Pending

    Question

  • Hello, I have a coupe of review activities that are in a status pending state. How would I go about removing these or at least getting them out of the status pending state? I believe these were created by having a template applied in the workflow for objects of class rreview activity. I am using the latest version of SCSM release.

    In one response I saw a note for a task in the task pane called "Return to Activity" I do not see that link in my task pane.

  • Can you check which Change Request it belongs to and find out the status of that change request?
    If the Change Request is still "In Progess"/"Complete", the review activity will become "In Progress" when all preceeding activities have been "Completed"

  • I have two of these in pending states. The status of one of the change requests that originally triggered the action is marked closed. Another one is marked failed.

  • Do you mean that the pending activities are now a part of the Closed and Failed change requests?

    Do you not get a remove button next to the activity list in the Change request form?

    For a Failed Change Request, you should be able to select the change request and click on "Return to activity" to return to the pending activity. I see that you said you dont see this task, but can you verify that you were looking in the change request views and not in the activity views?

  • Sorry I was mistaken, both of the pending review activites are associated with closed change requests.

    If I look at an "In Progress" or "Failed" I do see the Return to activity button. Unfortunately neither of the problematic changes are in this state they are marked as closed and I am unable to do anything with the activities. I thnk I may need to re-open the change request (Somehow) and remove the activity. I also notice that the the activities do not contain the "RA" designation in front of the ID number.

  • Don,  Was a template applied to the review activity? Did the template change the status of the review activity to Pending after it was Completed or Failed?

  • Yes a template was applied to a review activity, It did not change the status, that was done by someone reviewing the activity.
