Permissions on SQL Server - SCCM 2012 cannot install

    Question

  • I've been trying and mostly succeeding at installing SCCM 2012. However, a few errors persist and prevent the install from completing.

WSUS on site server - I have WSUS role activated and patched, this error remains.

Site server computer account administrative rights - This demands that the SCCM site server have admin rights on the SQL server. I have attempted to add it to the local group, however when it appears to have successfully added, the local group still reports the local admin as the only member.

    My setup:

    1 Server 2008 R2 SCCM 2012 machine

    1 Server 2008 R2 SQL Server 2012 machine

    1 Windows 7 Enterprise machine

    1 Server 2008 R2 AD controller

  • Hi,

The site server account requires sysadmin in the SQL instance and local admin in the Windows OS hosting the SQL instance.
