How to set up a view for 'All Incidents Entered by Me'

    Question

  • I need to set up a view in Service Manager that will display all incidents that were entered by me. We already have one that displays all that are Assigned to me, but not all that were Entered by me. I can't find the 'Entered by' or 'Created by' field in the Create View tool. Where can I find this?

  • Hello Jekkz,

When creating a view you can use the class Incident (advanced). In that combination class you have the option to use the related classe Created by User in your criteria.

  • As Expiscornovus says, you need to use a combination class (aka type projection) to solve this.

In addition to that, you should have a look at this blog post that describes how you create views with better performance: http://blogs.technet.com/b/servicemanager/archive/2010/12/02/faq-why-is-my-custom-incident-view-so-slow.aspx
Using the most "narrow" type projection is a best practise and can actually make a pretty big difference in performance.

  • Hi Expiscornovus,

That was just what I was looking for. I knew it was there somewhere :)
