Data imports

    Question

  • Hello,

I want to import non IP based devices into the Service Manager 2012 CMDB. The file is in a CSV file format but I'm struggling with the XML part.

    Is there an easier way?

    Thanks

  • Hi !

There is a third party solution which might help. Link

Unfortunately the 2012 Version isnt out yet, but i have good experiences with

the Data Management Pack in SCSM 2010.

Maybe you get a beta by asking them.

  • Cireson has developed an App for this, and is available in the System Center App Store. Check it out: http://www.cireson.com/app-store/auto-csv-import/.

  • Shaun: Do the App handle other objects besides users and computers?
(Doesn't seems like it when looking at your demo)

  • Hey Anders, right now we import Users and Computers, but are working on a v2 that will extend across the enitre Class model in SCSM.

Let me know if you have any questions, thanks!

  • Hi Guys,

I spoke to Shaun at Cireson.

I had lots of PC's from a legacy system that needed importing. The Cireson App worked very well.

    Thanks everyone for their input.
