Active Directory Discovery Methods - SCCM

    Pregunta

  • Hi Guys,

I am wanting to decrease the time it takes for SCCM to discover which security groups a client (computer) is a member of. This is because I am using security group membership to control which machines recieve software advertisements. Which discovery method is responsible for this? And what would the implications be if I had a polling schedule of say every thirty mintues. i.e would there be large amounts of network traffic this would create?

    Thanks

  • It would be the Active Directory System Group discovery. It depends on the number of OU's you are discovering. If you only have a single OU with the needed groups then the process might only take  1 minut. Best way to find out is by monitoring the adsysgrp.log fle.
