Creating New VM

回答

  • Do you create it from a template, or a new VM with a blank disk?

You are able to specify the name for the VM when it`s visible in SCVMM, and also to specify the name within the guest OS if you specify this on the OS profile.

However, I would recommend you to use the same name in both places.

If you take a look at the VMs in the Failover Cluster Manager, each VM that has been created through SCVMM will have a prefix with "SCVMM NameOnYourVM". Just to show the administrator where they were created.
