We are currently piloting FEP and just noticed our DW DB size is 46gb already, for just 117 clients! I have found article where i can change this, but if I run the stored procedure will it reduce the current table sizes or drop un needed data? Plz see here:

Hi mottm,
Thank you for your post.
When you change the data retention value to 9 (default value 12), FEP DW maintenance job that runs daily at 1:00 AM will remove old partitioned table and decrease FEP database sizes. The DW report database sizes based on clients number/retention period, you could estimate the size via FEP Capacity Planning Worksheet.
If there are more inquiries on this issue, please feel free to let us know.

14 กันยายน 2554 12:20Rick, does it preallocate the size in advance of the number clients in SCCM? Meaning while I only have 120 installed, it appears to have allocated for 23000. We did set the retention to 3 (90 DAYS) and it did not shrink much. I am thinking its safe to say i can add the rest of our clients without it getting to much bigger than whats been set aside.

Hi mottm,
Does it preallocate the size in advance of the number clients in SCCM?
No. The DB sizes increase with clients agent data received.

Just so everyone is clear... We're fully deployed (I work with MottM) and our FEPDW db is 115GB - We have 26,000+ clients.
our SCCM database size is now 91GB.
We have never had problems with database size until we installed FEP. We've had nothing but growth in both the data warehouse size and the sccm database size since. Several disk additions as we add 50GB, then it gets consumed.
This is crazy. Don't integrate with SCCM unless you're using 2012.
