FEP SCCM and SCSM sharing same SQL server instance

4 พฤษภาคม 2555 14:36I have SCCM and SCSM shareing the same SQL Server instance. ANd sharing the same SQL Reporting Server. My question is can i now install FEP on the same sql server instance? The question isnt about space or licencing as i have this covered.

I haven't tried ti but I cannot see any reason for it not to work.

Hi,
I can't see how ConfigMgr and SCSM can share the same DB instance!! Each one should have its own instance. In plus, both softs cannot share the same reporting instance also. So, if the some box is shared but each one has a SQL instance therefore you can put FEP server but the best practice is to separate.

Hi,
There should not be an issue installing FEP 2010 integrated with Configuration Manager 2007 on the same SQL instance as SCSM. Just ensure that the pre-reqs are in place as noted by Prerequisites for Installing Forefront Endpoint Protection on a Server - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff823830.aspx. Please note this configuration has not been officially tested internally.
