21 มิถุนายน 2552 13:32Hi folks. I've been working on trying to move a local account on a
business machine to its new domain account on the recentlyl joined
using USMT 3 but have been unsuccessful. Is there some kind of
for this or something? Here is some more information.
I have a computer called "gateway" with a user called smith that has a
profile. I joined the computer to a domain called "home". The users'
name is smith as well. All I want to do is migrate his local "smith"
to his domain account "home\smith". That's it. I don’t' know why
this is so
difficult. Moveuser was much easier to use. Help would be greatly
appreciated. I'm trying to do this in some automated fashion as well
other computers can be done without all this trouble. Thanks.

Here is a tutorial on how to migrate local profiles to domain profiles. It's for Windows 7 and XP, but should work on Vista since Vista is related to 7

I know this is a bit old question, but here is a solution for it. The Personal Edition of User Profile Wizard is free to download
User Profile Wizard 3.5 is the latest version of ForensiT's powerful workstation migration tool. User Profile Wizard will migrate your current user profile to your new domain account so that you can keep all your existing data and settings.
