Saran Jawaban Unable to deploy Office 2010 via SCE 2010

  • 1 เมษายน 2554 20:44

    SCE 2010, Office 2010 Standard x86, various clients (Win7 RTM/SP1, Win 2008 R2, Vista, XP)

    Following the procedure outlined at:

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff404177.aspx

Client receives Office 2010 via Windows Update, but when attempting to install receives error code 80070570 - Windows Update encountered an unknown error. (Seriously helpful there guys).

Office 2007 deploys to a similar group without errors.

    Hello Waterford,

Did the issue occur on every managed computer? The error number 0x80070570 is most likely ERROR FILE CORRUPT. Make sure none of the files in your package is currupted.

Besides, as the software package has been deployed to the agents and you got an installation failure, this issue seems not related with the SCE Server. I would suggest you using the following newsgroup for this question.

    Office 2010 Setup and Deployment

    Thanks,

There are 12 clients in the Office 2010 test group that I have created. They are able to download and install other packages from SCE. The only one that consistently fails is the Office package.

The SCE server has a WSUS partition labled E: which contains the Office 2010 install files. If I share this out to the same machines in the SCE deployment group, they are able to manually install the application. I would think that this would verify that the application was not corrupted, but if you have another method to verify this, I would like to hear it.

Are there log files on either the SCE server or the clients that will give more details as to the cause of the failure?

    Hello Waterford,

Did you use the Office Customization Tool to create a Setup customization file before you create a software package for Office 2010? Did you follow the instructions in the article below to deploy it?

Deploy Office 2010 by using System Center Essentials 2010

    Thanks,

As I stated in the original post, I followed the procedure at: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff404177.aspx. This includes creating a .msp file.

Every other update works fine. I've narrowed the issue down to Windows 7 computers with SP1. All others in the Office 2010 deployment group that I have created in SCE work correctly. I now suspect that this is a similar issue to the following thread:

     http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/systemcenterdevelopment/thread/298dc719-ecc4-44e3-9489-39bfda98c1a7/

On Windows 7 SP1 and Server 2008 SP1 machines we get the error code 80070570. On the SCE server side, the software deployment status shows as simply "Download failed". All other Windows version tested have received the software push without issue.

This morning I performed a test:

I imaged 2 identical Dell 6500 laptops using MDT. Laptop 1 has Windows 7 RTM. Laptop 2 has Windows 7 w/SP1. I deployed Office 2010 Standard to both using the procedure at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff404177.aspx. Laptop 1 (RTM) received the update and installed Office 2010 correctly. Laptop 2 (SP1) received error 8007057.

Based on my findings, this seems to be a bug identical to the one outlined http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/systemcenterdevelopment/thread/298dc719-ecc4-44e3-9489-39bfda98c1a7/

I have logs available. Where would you like them sent?

    Hello Waterford,

You are correct. This is a same issue with the following one:

One particular software package no longer installs on Windows 7 after upgrade to SP1 - error 80070570 (file corrupt)
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/systemcenterdevelopment/thread/298dc719-ecc4-44e3-9489-39bfda98c1a7/

We are still analyzing this issue. And I'll keep you update if we have any further information.

If possible, please help us to collect the EventLogs and WindowsUpdate.log file which were described in the thread.

    Thanks,

The requested logs have been provided. When do you anticipate a fix or workaround for this issue?

We also are seeing the same issue with Office 2010 x86 via SCE2010 and Windows 7 SP1.  Windows XP and Windows 7 RTM are fine.

Any word on a fix or a workaround to this issue?  I'm seeing it as well in a clean SCE 2010 and Win7 SP1 lab.

Please provide update/fix information as soon as possible. Same problem in our environment. I will not approve our upcoming $60 - 100k in license purchasing until I know I can deploy the software.

    Hi Folks,

A public release of this fix would be made available around August 31, 2011. Please do not treat this as precise official release date, but an announcement & release might move by a week on either side. Microsoft has already initiated public release process and started working on this fix. I apologize for the inconvenience that might have caused. I will update the thread in future with further updates. Thank you so much for the patience.

    Thanks
