답변됨 Office 2007 can't print Chinese documents from Windows 7

I have a customer that just bought a medium high grade notebook.

Within, was installed with Windows 7 Home and Office 2007.

Printing to HP M1005 was fine until it encounters with documents with Chinese characters.

No error pops up. When click Print icon or chooses from the menu, it just do nothing.
    Same in Words and Excel.

If printer set with spool active, the print job will not even be seen. However when deactivated the spooler (Print directly to printer), there's 2 similar print jobs stated but it will not print also.

Hope I made myself clear about this question, seeing an answer fro the pros. Thank you in advance!!!

    Hi,

I would like to know if all chinese cahracters can not be printed or some of them failed. You can create a simple new document in notepad and try to print again. By this test, we will see if it is possible that the document/project (Office) has become partially corrupted and may impact the system when it prints.

For such printer issues, I would suggest clear Printer Spooler files and enable the spooler service first.

    1. Click Start, type "Services.msc" (without the quotation marks) in the open box and click OK.
    2. Double-click "Printer Spooler" in the Services list.
    3. Click Stop and click OK.
    4. Click Start, click Run, type "%WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers" in the open window, and delete all files in this folder.
    5. Click Start, click Run, type "Services.msc" (without the quotation marks) in the open box and click OK.
    6. Double-click "Printer Spooler" in the Services list.
    7. Click on Start. In the Startup Type list, make sure that "Automatic" is selected and click OK.

After that, if the printer still won't print any documents that contains Chinese, reinstall the printer driver to the latest version.

First disconnect the printer from the Notebook.

Download the driver for Windows 7 (32 bit\or choose the 64 bit) and install it. Restart the computer to check the result.

    Thank you Magon_67,

Thanks again in advance for the quick reply even in Christmas!

However, I've done clearing the spooler (as I always do also).
But this process still fails me...

And for your info, this is a new printer and the driver was found directly from the HP official website.
The OS is in 64-bit so I've downloaded the 64-bit driver. Even tried re-downloaded that again.

I have another Notebook with Windows 7 32-bit OS which installed with 32-bit HP driver but this notebook prints without fail!
Printed those same documents and with the same printer but all ok!

FYI, the problematic notebook was being installed McAfee antivirus also, would this be blocking the printing process?
Will try to DISABLE McAfee for a try later.

And as for the printing from a wordpad, it can print! The same old documents copied and pasted to Wordpad can print.
As only can't be printed using Words nor Excel.

    Hi,

    You are welcome!

According to your feedback, the printing only fails when using Words and Excel. Then reinstalling Office components should be under consideration. The printer can print well from a wordpad, so there is nothing wrong with the printer.

Also tell us the result disabling McAfee as a test. We can not let go other factors.

    Thanks for the another idea.

Yes, within my considerations I had Office removed and reinstalled back too but no avail.

Tried two different installation kits for he office 2007 but problems still follows.

As for DISABLING  the McAfee, I have to do i by tomorrow, cause customer not free everytime.

Have called to HP toll free also, stated the also haven't encounter this type of prob till now.
They insisted that I download a Chinese version of the respective driver to test for this account.

So the next step will be disabling the McAfee and test, then reinstall the Chinese driver and test again.

What an odd problem. Wish me luck!

    The removal of McAfee failed.

My one last chance was to install the Chinese driver.

    Let's see about tomorrow morning.

Also try launch Office with no add on mode as a test.

Close all Office application, press "Ctrl" , click to run Office at the same time.

    What is the result?

Tried with safe mode also, thanks.

Actually all avail, from reinstalling the driver with a different language, clearing the spooler and even removing McAfee.

But finally I got the solution

This might be my deduction and it appears to be Windows 7 Editions problem

I got 2 Win 7, a 32 bit Ultimate Edition and 64 bit Professional Edition.

Seems like the language pack only provided to the Enterprise and Ultimate editions, Professional and Home doesn't have any packs available. Thus, no change on the display language.

I dunno this might be the right answer but at least I got a very good temporary solution.

Some chinese documents can be printed IF the FONT are within the menu of the Office applications. Meaning, Windows 7 recognized those words.

BUT for those fail to print documents, compared with previous, having using fonts other than the default fonts provided by Office and Win 7.

Thus, if those fail documents, you just need to select all and change the font to default chinese fonts like NSimsun of mingliu, then the documents will "magically" printed out like any other!

    Hi

Can you guys advise what exactly is the solution?  As per above, HP Support will not help (saying the product is out of warranty, even though the printer "works" under printing with Notepad or on Win Vista 32 bit/Office 2007).

    I have same/similar setup

    - Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bits)

    - Office 2010 Home & Small Business

    - 64 bit driver of HP LaserJet M1005 installed from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=1839459&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=1839458&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=4063

    Observations

    1) Print Chinese/English with Notepad- works

    2) Print English/graphics in Word- works

    3) Print a single Chinese character with default Chinese font in Word- not work (no error, but printer doesn't react as if something is to be printed, also nothing appears in print queue).

Tried- repairing Office install, install Chinese version of print driver- no luck :-(
