Windows 7 Deployment

23 พฤษภาคม 2555 20:50We're in the planning stage of our Windows 7 migration. We have Windows 7-compatible hardware and would like to upgrade from a Windows 7 fresh installation. For those of you that have done it, what have you guys used to perform this task? Thanks.

SCCM would be your best bet for this as you can automate it and schedule it. You can customize the deployment with a task sequence. Obviously installing SCCM is not a simple project if you do not already have it installed and running.
Another option that is free is to use Windows Deployment Services and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit. This will give you very similiar results to SCCM but is less complicated to setup initially.

Above of the solutions nate56 mentioned, Microsoft Deployment Toolit can also integrate with System Center Configuration Manager. That way you have all the tools needed to plan a succesful Windows 7 migration. Just create a reference image with updates, create driver packages and import applications and there you go. With both solutions you can create a task sequence to choose dynamically your steps to deploy Windows 7.
SCCM/ConfigMgr and MDT both has a new 2012 version now, with many new and better functionality in it!
