    desktop ( win xp)

laptop can  access both computers but PC with win 7 cant access any PC.

PC with Xp can access laptop but it cant access pc with win 7. However it shows that PC( win 7)  in "View computers in Workgroup", but upon clicking it, it shows error "\\blah is not  accessible. You might not have permission to use this n/w resource. Contact the administrator of this..... The n/w path was not found"

What can be an error? I have turned on " n/w discovery on"...

This n/w was doing work perfectly but i dont know why it become pain of veins and doing problems...

    Hi,

According to your description, the Windows desktop Windows 7 machine has trouble to access other PC on homegroup.

I suggest to perform these tests to troubleshoot the issue:

1 On Windows 7 desktop, use \\IPaddress to access both Win 7 laptop and Win XP desktop to check if it can access those PC

2 Temporary disable firewall and antivirus program on Windows 7 desktop

    3. Reset WinSock on Windows 7 desktop

    4 Enable NetBIOS on TCP/IP

    Hope that helps.

    Regards,

    Hi,

When Windows 7 cannot see other Windows PC on network, it should related to “Computer Browser service”

For more information regarding browser service, please refer to:

Troubleshooting the Microsoft Computer Browser Service

I suggest to disable IPv6 for test:

How to disable IP version 6 (IPv6) or its specific components in Windows 7, in Windows Vista, in Windows Server 2008 R2, and in Windows Server 2008

Furthermore, try to reset WinSock for test:

    1. Open the command prompt

    2. Type in “netsh winsock reset” (without the quotes)

    3. After resetting winsock, Restart your computer.

    Hope that helps.
