    Hi All,

    In my organization around 1000+ machines i'm getting below patch scan failed error.

    WUAHandler.log

    OnSearchComplete - Failed to end search job. Error = 0x8024401b.

    Scan failed with error = 0x8024401b.

    tried all possiblities what ever suggested in this forum and other forums.

    ever where it is showing proxy authentication. however we are not using any proxy server and proxy settings.

    group policy it has correct wsus server name and registry also correct entries.

    able to ping wsus server from client machine, able to telnet 8530 port.

    wuauserv and bits services are started. tried registered the dll files.

    i'm really getting mad about this error. machine are not completing scan successfully.

    could some one help me to resolve the same.

    Hi,

    As i understand you update your clients via SCCM,

    So, you can ask question at CM forums: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmgrsum/threads

    But before you can try to change the site system FQDN to lowercase

    (Site Database -> Site Management -> Central Site -> Site Settings -> Site Systems -> <siteserver> -> ConfigMgr Site System)

    and then restart windows update service on client.

    HI

    Yes, you are correct, I'm updating my client via SCCM.

    however as you suggested about lowercase site system name..if it is the issue, it has to happen for all clients in my sccm console. it is giving error for only few clients.

    So in this case ,

    As i mentioned above try  to ask your question at Configuration Manager 2007 Software Updates Management forum, i think you decide your problem much more quickly
